Lovage is a hardy, flavorful, and extremely productive perennial vegetable in the celery family. Its dark green leaves shine in the garden because of their early harvest window, appearing alongside daffodils and apple blossoms. Leaves can be harvested beginning in late March - early April, before most vegetables are even planted in the garden! Lovage makes a great substitute for celery and parsley in soups and salads, and will continue to grow through summer with plants reaching up to 5’ tall. In summer, umbrella-like flowers attract pollinators and beneficial insects. Plants form a large clump and can be divided after a few seasons.
