'Fall Gold' Raspberry
(Rubus idaeus)
The gold standard of gold raspberries! Fall Gold is a reliable producer and one of the best tasting raspberries out there. Plants are hardy, vigorous, and covered in sweet, honey-apricot flavored raspberries in late summer-mid fall. Fall Gold is primocane fruiting - aka everbearing - meaning it will produce its main crop of berries on first year canes in late summer to mid-fall. Primocane raspberries are very easy to maintain, as they can simply be pruned to the ground every fall.
Flavor Profile: Honey, apricot, pineapple, sweet, low-acid
Hardiness zone: 4-9
Light: Full sun to part shade, but more sun will result in more berries.
Soil: Adaptable to soil type and can tolerate moisture, raspberries love a good garden soil with a pH of 5.5-6.5
Mature height: 5-6’
Spacing: 2-3’
Pollination: Fall gold raspberries are self fertile.
Planting tips: Water in well. Mulching heavily is recommended as raspberry shoots will emerge through thick mulch but weeds will be suppressed. Raspberry thickets are difficult to weed once established, so starting with a well prepared planting will yield good results for years to come. Plants will try to spread through runners and new shoots, so choose a spot that can accommodate expansion, or conversely a place that will limit the spread with a border or one with edges that can be easily mowed.
Growing tips: Fall Gold is a primocane raspberry, meaning fruit is produced on first year canes, so plants can simply be rejuvenated by cutting back to ground level in late fall.
We are unable to ship this product outside the contiguous US or to California.
All winter orders are for dormant, bare root plants and will be shipped or available for pick up in March-April 2026
