Buttonbush produces round, whimsical flower heads throughout summer. The button-like blooms are known to attract hummingbirds and butterflies and their prolific seeds are sought out by songbirds in fall and winter. This is a beautiful and hardy native pollinator plant that loves moist soils making it perfect for rain gardens, erosion control, and areas with poor drainage.

Hardiness zone: 5-9

Light: Full sun to part shade, but more sun will result in more flowers

Soil: Moist to wet soils with pH 5.5-7

Mature size: 5-8’ tall, 3-6’ wide

Planting tips: Consistent watering is crucial for newly planted trees to help minimize transplant shock and establish strong roots. Buttonbush does not tolerate dry soils. 

We are unable to ship this product outside the contiguous US or to California.
